You’re Losing Sales. We Find Out Why.
We uncover the hidden obstacles that keep customers from saying yes.

Are You Making It Harder for Customers to Buy?
Small gaps in your messaging can quietly cost you attention, trust, and sales.
Headlines that answer the wrong question?
A website that explains rather than persuades?
An exhibit booth that doesn’t tell attendees what problem you solve?
A sales presentation that makes perfect sense to the people who created it, but leaves prospects wondering, “So what?”
No perfectly clear call to action that tells prospects exactly what to do next?

You can’t read the label from inside the mayonnaise jar.

David brings a rare blend of strategic sophistication and practical clarity to every engagement. He helps organizations uncover and eliminate self-inflicted sales losses by clarifying their message so prospects don’t just hear it—they understand it and act on it. I highly recommend The Saltzman Group to any organization in the health benefits industry that wants to stand apart from the competition.
David Saltzman plays one of the most important consultative roles for an organization. He is a seasoned strategist who helped me simply define what we do and for whom, simply, quickly, and without pain. He helped us get past the speeds and feeds that I think are important and focus on what matters to the prospect, in as simple terms as possible. If you are a startup or just revising your look and messaging for a new world, David’s your man.
Starting a new company is a challenge. David and his team have helped us all the way from concept through implementation. Using the StoryBrand framework we identified the specific client we wanted and built a story that invites them in. We created a website, email campaign, presentation deck and script and are working on podcast bookings and videos. In addition to being a great guide, David is easy to work with and keeps things fun while meeting our needs.
I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs to create or sharpen their corporate story.
I began working with David Saltzman in early 2020. He introduced me to the book Storybrand by Donald Miller. I read the book cover to cover then started working through the book taking notes and working on applying it to my business. Then I became stuck.
I reached out to David and he help me develop my Storybrand two-liner in a way I never would have accomplished by myself. The insight he gave me and the way he was able to walk me through and continually refine my ideas and lead me to an accurate and effective brand.
Since then we have continued to work together on the marketing for my consulting practice. Additionally, he has introduced me to people he knows in the industry that can improve the quality of my work as well as the ideas I can bring to the table.
I cannot say enough good things about Dave. His willingness to share what he knows, his ability to help me develop my ideas and his sense of humor have been invaluable to me these past six months. I plan to continue to work with David Saltzman for years to come.
I was looking for a certified StoryBrand guide because I knew that my message was not strong enough on my homepage to really convert the people I want to work with into clients. And I thought, “who can help me?” I looked at different profiles of certified guides and it’s very soon became clear to me.
David is the guy to talk to, and it’s been such a pleasure. We’ve worked together and we have achieved results that are fascinating. And we did our one-liner and created our new homepage together. And it’s just, it’s really, really, really fun to work with. David. We always have a great time, and at the same time I can see results – and I love that combination.
David Saltzman has helped Opioid Free America turn a complex and important idea into a clear, compelling story. He is a gifted strategist, trusted partner, and someone I recommend without hesitation.
I’ve had the privilege of working with David for many years, and while he’s an outstanding podcast host with an incredible ability to put guests at ease and make complex topics engaging, what I appreciate most is the kind of person he is. A past NABIP President and recipient of the association’s highest honor, the Harold R. Gordon Memorial Award, David has earned the respect of our profession through his leadership and service. David is thoughtful, genuine, and generous with his time and expertise.
He cares deeply about people and our profession, and that comes through in every conversation he leads.
David and his team have been helping us clarify our messaging and create materials that get our prospect’s attention. As a Certified StoryBrand Guide, David took us through the process and helped our organization to learn how to communicate and win business by creating stories that make our client the hero.
From initial concept through creating collateral materials, website content, product one sheets, social media content and more, David is a gifted marketer and copywriter who can make any message come alive and resonate with prospects and clients. He is also great fun to work with and makes the process easy for us. If you need to clarify your message and then create materials to tell that story, David is your guy.
Medicare can be a confusing topic for many consumers, so being able to tell a story that invites them in and frames their issues in concise and accurate language is key. David and his staff helped us do that, while navigating around the seemingly endless Federal requirements of what can and can not be said in marketing materials.
The StoryBrand process helped us to zero in on the main concern that our clients face and created a communication strategy with our team so that we could more easily attract and retain clients. David kept the process light and helped us to laser focus on that main outcome.
From the content on our new website to creating a deck to tell our story, help with presentation techniques, and all of our collaterals, David was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend The Saltzman Group to anyone who wants to sell more.

I See Dead Messages.
I have a problem.
I can’t stop spotting the things that are costing companies sales. It’s a little annoying, actually. I can’t read a website, sit through a sales presentation, walk past a trade show exhibit, or skim a brochure without thinking, “Well…there’s why people aren’t buying.”
It’s kind of like that kid in The Sixth Sense . He saw dead people.
I see dead messages.
I see the messages that never answer the customer’s real question. Headlines that create confusion instead of curiosity. Websites that explain everything except why anyone should care. Sales presentations that bury the punchline until everyone has already mentally checked out. Trade show booths that look impressive, but leave people wondering what problem you actually solve. The funny part is that the people who created them almost never see the problem. Why would they? They’re too close. They already know what they mean. Their prospects don’t.
That’s where things go sideways. Somewhere between what the company intended to say and what the customer actually heard, sales quietly walk out the door. I call these self-inflicted sales losses because that’s exactly what they are. The good news is that most of them are surprisingly easy to fix once somebody points them out.
That’s what I do.
I’m not a marketing consultant, and I’m not here to sprinkle fairy dust on your branding or invent clever buzzwords. I’m a Sales Loss Strategist. I look at your business through the eyes of the people you’re trying to sell to, uncover the places where confusion is quietly killing momentum, and help you eliminate it. My goal isn’t to make your marketing prettier. It’s to make your business easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to buy from.
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “We should be closing more business than we are,” you’re probably right. The answer usually isn’t another marketing campaign. It’s finding the loose screws that have been there all along.
Fortunately, finding them is kind of my thing.
